As a result, this more relaxed regulatory approach has allowed questionable products to flood the market.

Here's the catch: what's written on the label in terms of the number of live probiotics in the bottle may not always align with the actual contents. Furthermore, companies are not obligated to provide documentation proving the presence of specific bacteria in their supplements. This lack of accountability means that there's little motivation for these companies to explore and innovate with new probiotics.
