Why I’m Not Using MyMostTrusted—At Least Not Yet
In a world where relationship-building tools are multiplying by the minute, it’s tempting to jump into platforms that promise instant access to curated networks and warm introductions. MyMostTrusted is one of those platforms. It’s polished, community-driven, and built around the idea of trust-based referrals. But for me, that’s not enough.
I believe in earning my relationships, not renting them.
🧠 First-Party Data: What It Is and Why It Matters
Let’s start with something simple but powerful: first-party data. For those unfamiliar with the term, it means the information you’ve collected directly from people you know with their consent. That includes names, emails, notes, preferences, and interactions you’ve logged in your CRM. It’s data you’ve earned through real conversations, shared experiences, and mutual respect.
Because I’ve gathered this data myself, I own it. If I ever leave my CRM provider, I can export that data and take it with me. No strings attached. No paywalls. No permissions needed. It’s mine because I built those relationships, and I’ve nurtured them with care.
🔒 Why Ownership Matters
MyMostTrusted, while innovative, doesn’t offer the same clarity. Their website doesn’t provide a detailed privacy policy or terms of service that explain how data is stored, protected, or shared. There’s ambiguity around whether your data is sourced from or shared with third parties. And while they say “you own the relationships,” it’s unclear whether that applies to the actual data points like timestamps, notes, or engagement history.
They also offer a premium tier (MMT Premium), which means they can put features behind a paywall. That’s their right as a business. But it’s a risk for users who rely on the platform to manage their connections. If access to key data or features becomes gated, you’re left paying to maintain relationships you already built.
🛠️ The Hard Way Is the Right Way (For Me)
Some people prefer the easy way:
Plug into a network, get instant access, and let the platform do the work. I respect that. But I prefer the hard-earned way. I collect data from people I’ve met, asked permission to stay in touch, and built rapport over time. That data lives in my CRM, where I control it. I can tag it, segment it, and use it to support others in meaningful ways.
There’s no risk of losing access. No sudden paywalls. No guessing who owns what.
🔄 What Would Make Me Consider MyMostTrusted?
If MyMostTrusted offered data sync capabilities, allowing me to extract contact details, engagement history, and notes into my CRM, I’d reconsider. That would give me true ownership of the datapoints and allow me to integrate their platform into my existing systems. Until then, I’ll stick with what I trust most: the relationships I’ve built, the data I’ve earned, and the CRM that respects my ownership.
If you’re someone who values long-term connection over short-term convenience, I encourage you to think about where your data lives and who controls it. Because in the end, trust isn’t just about introductions. It’s about ownership, transparency, and the freedom to grow your network on your own terms.
