What's in a Name? Why I'm the HealthyDataGuy

Every name has a story. Mine just happens to involve my grandparents, a corporate IT career, and a surprising amount of cooking.

Where My Passion for Health Began

Growing up, I watched my grandparents navigate diabetes, heart issues, and the complications that come with surgeries. In my family, these struggles were treated like weather. They were simply what happened as people got older, and nobody expected anything different.

I never quite bought it. I kept wondering whether these outcomes were truly inevitable, or whether something else was going on. That curiosity pulled me into functional nutrition and culinary therapy, and that is where I found epigenetics. In plain English, epigenetics is the idea that our choices can influence how our genes express themselves. Genes are not a life sentence. They are more like a script, and we get a say in how it is performed.

Why "Healthy" Comes First

Notice the order in my business name. Healthy comes before Data, and that is on purpose. If I am not taking care of my health, I cannot show up well for my family, my friends, or my business partners. In my world, those groups all land in the same category: family. Taking care of myself is how I take care of them.

The Data Guy Side of Me

Before the kitchen, there was the cubicle. My background is in computer information systems with an emphasis in business systems analysis, which is a fancy way of saying I design systems and databases. I later left my corporate IT job as a data migration specialist to follow my interest in functional nutrition and therapeutic culinary arts. Same curious brain, very different cutting board.

There is a third meaning too, and it shows up in my daily work. I am very data oriented and organized, and I help my clients use a CRM, which is really just a friendly database, to keep their information accurate and tidy. When your data is organized, decisions get easier, and your business moves forward without the daily scavenger hunt of siloed system (aka messy systems).

Connecting for Growth

Some of the people I work with are practitioners who share a personalized, preventative, and root cause driven philosophy. They take the time to understand your whole story, from health history to environmental influences, and they build sustainable lifestyles around it. That same spirit shapes how I approach business relationships.

Here is what you will find in my HealthyDataGuy philosophy:

  1. Epigenetics unveiled. Learn how your choices can shape your genetic expression, and why health challenges are not always predetermined by age or genetics.

  2. A community of positive minds. Connect with growth enthusiasts who swap strategies for continual improvement, whether the topic is nutrition, diverse cuisines, or business growth.

  3. Personalized support. Subscribe to the Health Newsletter for practical tips, or reach out with questions. You will find a network of heart-centered professionals ready to help.

The Motto That Ties It All Together

Everything above feeds my motto: "Using CRMs to strengthen human connection in the digital age." It may sound like a business idea, but it is really a health idea. When we support each other and build community, we contribute to each other's growth. That is good for our physical and mental health, and it is good for our business health too. Healthy relationships, healthy people, and healthy businesses tend to travel together.

Quitting my demanding corporate IT job at a Customer Relationship Management company was a life-changing decision. Burnout pushed me to explore new horizons, leading me to culinary arts, functional nutrition, and sales training. Each step reignited my passion and guided me back to technology with a renewed purpose: to help others make a bigger impact. Now, I thrive in empowering service-based businesses to harness CRM technology to stand out, and build lasting, meaningful connections that drive sustainable growth. Have questions/comments?
